trivia[edit]

About2/3 of the way through the miniseries, Le Mat comes into the hideout and turns on the TV to show Lancaster that the Ayatollah has returned. Lancaster is reading a book; he was an inveterate reader. I identified the book as Michener's Tales of the South Pacific. The problem is that it's a paperback with a dark yellow/light brown cover. Thriftbooks has the same thing for sale, published in 1982. The film was made in 1983 and this book probably came from Lancaster's stash. The rescue however was in 1979, I can't find an image of the cover of a 1979 edition to see if that cover was used for multiple printings. 100.15.117.34 (talk) 13:04, 15 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
