Dancers[edit]

Does anyone know the names of the dancers in this video, especially the guy in the striped shirt at the beginning ? ThomasHL (talk) 14:00, 26 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Point of View[edit]

Seems to me that this article goes too far with the editorializing and betrays a neutral point of view. It reads more like an advertisement than a factual article. Example (emphasis added):

The third single and title track from David Guetta's massive One Love cd is quite incredible in its own right. Reminiscent of tracks from fellow Frenchman Bob Sinclar ("World Hold On" and "Love Generation"), it features Estelle singing about unifying people through love to overcome universal struggles. That's a lot to bite off in a pop song but it communicates the message over house groove with subtle electro/progressive flourishes.

British urban singer Estelle joins Akon and Kelly Rowland in a list of notorious guests, adding their vocal talents to Guetta's summery smashes. 'One Love' also offers a first glimpse at the pair's future collaboration, 'Delicious Change' - Estelle’s follow-up to her 2008 breakthrough record 'Shine' in which the French DJ is one of the producers. Estelle's classy vocals on the chart-friendly title track provide decorative icing on a solidly structured four minutes of pop perfection.

Floating comments[edit]

I've never posted on wiki ever, but I just wanted to reiterate something I read on another forum. Some individuals think that the melody sounds similar to the chorus of "Hotel California" by the Eagles. After reading that, I partially agree and maybe that's why I get a feel good, familiar feeling listening to this song. I don't have much musical background and I am just posting someone else's opinions. If someone could either verify or build on that, would be appreciated. I agree - the verse of One Love sounds very similar to the Eagles song —Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.106.166.193 (talk) 00:02, 8 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
If we can find a source it can be added but based on the album credits (which I have) there is no credited sample. --Lil-unique1 (talk) 00:07, 8 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed: The "[Guetta] One Love" chorus has the same chord progression as the "Hotel California" verses: i-V-VII-IV-VI-III-(iiø or iv)-V. It's a pair of Andalusian progressions (a/k/a "Andalusian cadences"), one based on the tonic and one based on the dominant. The difference between iiø (ii half-diminished seventh) and iv is hard to hear because the iv triad serves as the top of the iiø chord (in B minor, the key of "Hotel California", the iv chord would be E-G-B and the iiø chord would be C#-E-G-B), especially in this context, in which the iiø plays the role of a secondary dominant and the iv is a substitute for it (used because one can't play half-diminished chords "in position" on a standard-tuned guitar).
