Title[edit]

At least online, "Ongut" seems to be much more popular than "Ongud". Do we have a Mongolian spelling (classic or modern)? --Latebird 19:43, 3 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have "Öngüt" in J.P. Roux. Best regards. PHG (talk) 18:09, 27 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Onggud or Ongud is better in Mongolian language. Ongut is corruption of these two--Enerelt (talk) 02:33, 27 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Turkic not Mongolic[edit]

Onguds were Turks, not Mongols. The article itself suggested it, but many authors speak about them as being Turkic, including the contemporary sources. --Governor Sheng (talk) 23:50, 15 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
