First recollection of Ookpik[edit]

I first heard of the Ookpik toy in the early spring of 1964, soon after the Good Friday Earthquake; I was living in Picton, Ontario at the time. Proceeds from some Ookpik sales may have been used as post-earthquake disaster relief.Tony 06:18, 28 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ookpik equals Ootpik?[edit]

There is a well-known waltz tune named "Ootpik Waltz" also sometimes called Canadian Waltz... does anyone know if Ookpik was (often or at least famously) misspelled "Ootpik"?

Well a Google search for ootpik waltz and ookpik waltz would indicate that it is a misspelling. There is some info here and I see that youtube has at leat one video of it. CambridgeBayWeather Have a gorilla 15:08, 18 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Comic strip?[edit]

There was a widely syndicated comic strip, full of political commentary and very witty, that was around for quite a while; bit shocked to not see it here.......should WP:Comics or something like that be added? It would have been, in fact, the primary usage after the fad for the little fur toys went downhill....which partly please note went down hill because it was seal fur they were made of.....180.183.122.53 (talk) 15:17, 19 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
