So much to do, and I've so little idea how to do it[edit]

I came across this page because someone blanked it, but Serols (correctly) reverted their blanking. At the moment:

  • The article is written in acronyms and tech-speak completely incomprehensible to anyone who doesn't already know what it's intended to say.
  • It's referenced only to primary sources
  • There's no comprehensible overview of what it actually is
  • ...and no indication of how widely-used it is (which would contribute to its notability, and link it to other notable subjects)
  • and I'm not sure what to make of the list of modules. Without further information, it's just a list. What's special about calendaring?

I did a quick Google search and found plenty of things I've heard of that interface to it, so presumably it's notable. But this article is in dire need of re-writing at so, so many levels. I think part of the problem is that this was written by a single purpose account very close to the source (the editor has written only about this software and about Frank Karlitschek, who wrote the software). Without meaning any offence to that editor, I wonder whether input from other editors might make this article more generally useful? I tagged it with "Context", but perhaps that's not the right tag? Elemimele (talk) 18:25, 13 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
