Reference Necessary?[edit]

Is it really necessary to include a citation for "The name is a pun on the "Leekspin" joke animation."? wtf discussion[edit]

What are you talking about, no references? There's twitter feeds, all sorts of images, and the public IRC channels. This is ridiculous. You jerks aren't going to be given preferential treatment, you know. You've gathered around a pack of wolves in sheep-clothing. Read The Purloined Letter for a classic example of hiding something in plain sight.

Do some googling and think independently. When it really comes down to it, the only person who will ever truly watch out for your back is yourself and your family.

That's the kind of institution you enjoy, isn't it? So do we. Go spend some time reflecting on "what if"s. Think about it for a while, sit on it, do your own research, look at both viewpoints, make an informed decision. Keep always in mind human nature, and remember that the average person isn't necessarily thinking 300 years ahead when he decides to take action. Those who kick themselves every day over the naive, almost childlike ignorance of the many -- interesting; it seems that previous institutions may have been created for the purpose of domesticating humanity to create an under-tier who is caged in, fed, provided for, and eventually become the Eloi if they continue to say "No, things are fine the way they are right now. I'd much rather enjoy my life to the fullest without any fear or danger of getting persecuted for sticking my neck out for some asshole I'll never even meet! Let it fall to my grandchildren to recognize the problems and act upon them, because I'm afraid of facing the possibility that I may have been lied to (whether intentionally or truly inadvertently through society's assimilation of untruths oft repeated) for my entire life.

Guess what? My grandfather told me to fight without hesitation if I truly felt in my heart of hearts that it was the right thing to do. Since the beginning of Operation Leakspin, Operation Payback attacked a few more targets so I think they are both separate Operations, both by Anonymous. Maybe if they find more references this article could be merged with Anonymous.--Neo139 (talk) 21:51, 14 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Misleading Statements w/References[edit]

The following statement

Is misleading. Specifically "for personally creating a substantial botnet and independently conducting a DDoS attack on websites such as Mastercard.com and Visa.com" and then provides a reference to the following article: http://techshrimp.com/2010/12/08/anonymous-group-revenge-continues-with-ddos-attack-on-visa-after-mastercard/ which states under

- - "Update #5: Dutch High Tech Crimes unit arrested a 16-year-old in The Hague, Netherlands, with prosecutors saying he confessed to attacks on the websites. "He is probably part of a larger group of hackers, who are under continued investigation," they said."

So from what I understand by that reference the attack was not from a personally created botnet nor independent. I also find the sources blog article to be questionable in its neutrality. --Travis Northrup (talk) 20:53, 22 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
