Basel Committee[edit]

Basel Committee is based on "Group of Ten" countries which includes Japan, US and Canada. Europe adopted the Based codes, not the other way round. Martin (Talk, Contribs) 13:53, 2 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Where does Basel II state the requirements for media data protection i.e. disk/ tapes that need to leave the IT envornment?

It doesn't. Basel II is much more around the financial safeguards, rather than the IT ones. Any data protection would need to be "robust". 87.194.61.149 16:57, 23 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Criticisms of definition[edit]

Removed a lot of text about analyst criticisms of definition. Happy to see these reinstated if a citation is provided. Martin (Talk, Contribs) 13:14, 29 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ability to measure market risk or manage?[edit]

"However, it is worth mentioning that the near collapse of the U.S. financial system in September 2008 is a clear indication that our ability to measure market and credit risk is far from perfect." I have done some work in market risk, I believe this would be more accurate to say "our ability to understand and manage market & credit risk measures". September 2008 was more about reglation and mis-management, not about measurement. 206.230.48.50 (talk) 12:35, 4 March 2010 (UTC)wilce1197[reply]

I agree there is more needed on this topic. I have created a reputational risk article - perhaps that is more fitting than this article for expansion? Anneaholaward (talk) 15:47, 11 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Background[edit]

Although few would argue that poor risk management helped cause the recent crisis, this is a page on operational risk, which as far as I know was not a major factor. DominicConnor (talk) 15:26, 16 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
