Controversy[edit]

The "Controversy over gay sheep experiments" section is factually incorrect and POV: the researcher in question is not teasting whether "homosexuality can be 'corrected'", but whether alterations in maternal & fetal hormone levels can affect adult sexual partner preference. The website http://www.divamag.co.uk/diva/update.asp does not back up the claim that "gay and lesbian publications have taken a critical view of PETA." This reference is simply a news article that is reporting on the controversy. It contains quotes from both sides and it doesn't take an obvious stance. This is not a position paper or staff editorial which would be needed to be supportive of this statement. In fact the news article ends with the quote from PETA: "The implications of this so-called ‘research‚ are dangerous to the LGBT community. If [the scientists] are altering sheep's hormonal profiles in utero, it's naïve to think that such a technique would not someday be tried on human fetuses." For Improvement[edit]

Ways to improve: get a logo and move the picture into the article. Move most info from opening paragraph into other sections. Probably couls have a section called "Campuses" with sub sections "Main," "West," and "South Waterfront." OrRegPrimCent is part of west so combine that into that area. Then probably some statistics, expand info on the facilities, and I'm sure there is more history (i.e. the merger with Willamette University's med school around 1913). Then eventually probably good to branch off the hospital into its own article with a "see main article" tag and small section about each on the other's page. Just some thoughts. Another improvement under the new "Campuses" section would be to mention that OHSU's School of Nursing has 5 campuses around the state. Note to self: eventually add sections for "Research" and "Healthcare". Research to cover the various institutes and in general the research across the campuses, while then refining the campus section. Plan for Improvements[edit]

Looks like this page could use some help. Here are some thoughts on what I'll try and accomplish, looking forward to any feedback: -Improve lede -I think the <<Oregon Health & Science University Hospital>> page content should be merged into this page. -Remove controversies section. Shorten and move tram info to history section. Not that it could not be improved, but some of the "negative" items should not just be removed. Integrated, yes, but this is not a PR piece for the school. And most of what you are proposing raises red flags as it could be viewed as a way to make the school look better, when the goal should be to make the article better while following all guidelines.

As to merging content in, I actually think more should be split-off. Most well-done university articles focus on the larger institution itself, with most content about things such as individual schools and campus facilities split off into separate articles with just a summary left behind. This does two things: 1) allows those articles to properly grow without a size problem or UNDUE issue to the university article' and 2) it allows for better navigation for those looking for those items. For instance, the hospital is linked in several hospital lists and at least one large hospitals nav template, plus a bunch of categories that are specific to the hospital. Redirects can be used, but it makes more since to have direct links. Not to mention, the hospital is notable, and merging is supposed to be reserved as an alternate to deletion.
