Name changes[edit]

As of January 2021, The Auk is named Ornithology and The Condor is named Ornithological Applications. I have made the necessary changes in content and moved the articles, but a few things might bear improvement:

  • Peculiarly, there is the statement of intention to change the names [1] from 2020, and there is the undeniable fait accompli of changed names from 2021 onwards [2][3] - but I couldn't find a dated statement about the change itself taking place; no press release or similar. That's some unexpected coyness on part of the publisher of two 100+ year-old journals. If someone can dig up this up, it should be added as a reference.
  • It looks as if there is as yet no updated official journal abbreviation for the new titles. At least the usual abbreviation databases don't carry any. Not sure if that takes a while to happen, or if they will just stick to "Auk" and "Condor"? If this is updated, please adjust infobox.
  • Should the box images replaced with current covers? I'd say no - the used images are already historical in that they show subtitles no longer in use ("A Magazin of Western Ornithology"), so might as well leave it at that.
