A fact from Our Lady of Victory Church (Inuvik) appeared on Wikipedia's Main Page in the Did you know column on 14 September 2016 (check views). The text of the entry was as follows:
I removed the Mackenzie Hotel reference, since there are currently at least six buildings in the Igloo Church's immediate vicinity which are three or more storeys tall (Capital Suites hotel, Jim Koe centre, etc). However, many Inuvik buildings along this part of Mackenzie Rd tend to be more separated from each other than is common in more southern downtown areas, and there are none directly around the church. Thus the key to the Igloo Church's prominence in the area is its own fairly large lot, the Chief Jim Koe Park, and the outdoor recreational centre adjacent to the Midnight Sun recreational complex, which together allow it to stand out on its side of the street. - Tenebris 66.11.171.90 (talk) 02:38, 14 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Well, the Mackenzie Hotel will probably always be an establishment, and the typical two-storey maximum is still the case for nearly every single building around there, even the apartments (although with the height of the pilings added in, it really has more of a three-storey effect). There really is not all that much new construction in that entire part of Mackenzie Rd, and even the "new" hospital is already 13 years old. Most of the new construction seems to be single houses or row houses, up near Wolverine and beyond.
