This article does sound like an advert. All of the translations are very simular. The info in Wikepedia about formwork is very scarce, maby the good volks from Peri also have time to impfove the formwork article. --Lumber Jack 13:26, 1 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Discussion if this Article should be deleted.[edit]

No indication of notability through third-party sources. I was wary about speedying it outright, so seeking opinions of others. SchuminWeb (Talk) 08:08, 24 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • Week Keep Can't see any justification for speedy - asserts notability. Seems a reasonably big multinational looking at Google (PERI US, PERI UK, PERI DE etc.), but wether we can get any independent sources is different - I would assume there must be some trade reviews that could be used as references but couldn't see any in a quick search. Agree with the advert tag, and needs a re-write, but it does seem to pass WP:N.Pedro |  Chat  08:22, 24 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
keep
let give you a crash course in companies within the construction industry
If we were to compare the automotive industry with the construction industry
Then Ford Motor Company would be as to Automobile, as PERI GmbH as to Formwork.
I see no reason why this article should be deleted or the article EFCO Corp. (leading american formwork company) If anything maybe this article should be reviewed by a third party. If all construction company articles should be deleted then I call for all automotive companies to be treated in the same way.

The ACS (Automatic Climbing System) was PERI's milestone in self-climbing technology. It is used to form high buildings without a crane. At the beginning of the 80s, PERI was at the forefront of using aluminium in the construction business. This trend soon won over sceptics as people on the job sites quickly realized that a 20% weight reduction is a big advantage, because striking has to be done by hand after concreting

Edit request (2021-04-27: Update & references)[edit]

Hello all,

Here comes a proposal for an update (paid edit). A new version is desirable, because the article is outdated in parts and in many cases sources are missing.

A few important comments on the direction of the improvement proposal:

  1. The proposal is not intended to advertise PERI, which is not what Wikipedia is for.
  2. A new section describes the company's history.
  3. I have tried to use sources that are not derived from the company. In a few text passages (from my point of view they are not critical) I have nevertheless used the company website.
  4. I avoided superlatives. (I hope I didn't miss anything there).

I would be happy if the improvement proposal would be implemented. Many thanks in advance. Atomiccocktail (talk) 15:28, 27 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

PERI is a manufacturer and supplier of formwork and scaffolding systems. The company was founded in 1969[2] by Artur Schwörer (1933–2009)[7][8] and his wife Christl Schwörer (born 1947)[2] in Weißenhorn, Germany. The company's name is derived from the Greek preposition "peri" (English: around)[9] and is a metaphor for the building principle of PERI: the formwork surrounds the concrete – the scaffold surrounds the building.[10]

History[edit]

The company was founded in 1969 by Artur Schwörer and his wife Christl Schwörer in Weißenhorn, Germany.[2] Under the leadership of Artur Schwörer and beyond, the company developed innovations over the decades that became significant in the construction industry. These include innovations in formwork and scaffolding technology, such as the self-climbing technology that could replace cranes on construction sites, the use of aluminum or the use of 3D printers in complex construction projects.[2][8][11][12]

In 2007, Artur Schwörer handed over the management of the company to his two sons, Alexander and Christian Schwörer.[13] In 2008, Artur Schwörer was awarded the Bavarian Order of Merit for his life’s work.[14]

In 2014, Schaltec – a company which offers refurbishment services and trading with used goods – became part of the PERI group.[15] Three years later the company opened the modern head plant for scaffolding systems in Günzburg, Germany.[16] A galvanizing plant was added to the company’s premises in 2020.[17]

Products and services[edit]

The PERI product range can be divided into the following business segments: formwork, scaffolding, civil engineering, panel products, industrial scaffolding, components, services, and 3D construction printing.[18][19]

Formwork

The formwork products include wall formwork, column formwork, and slab formwork as well as climbing systems in connection with components and accessories.[20]

Scaffolding

The scaffolding business segment includes scaffolding solutions for diverse types of projects, such as building construction, civil engineering, engineering, and industrial construction engineering.[21]

Civil engineering solutions

The civil engineering solutions include self-climbing systems for building construction as well as formwork for tunnel and bridge construction.[22]

Panel products

The company offers plywood and engineered wood-based. The material is being used on a regular basis by the construction, transport, packaging, or paving industry.

Industrial scaffolding

The company offers comprehensive and integrated solutions throughout the entire project lifecycle. In addition, the scaffolding system used allow flexible adaptation to challenging geometries of the complex industrial facilities.

Components

The company offers accessories and components for all aspects of in-situ concreting operations and scaffold.

Services

According to the company, 2,000 engineers and experts worldwide work on individual formwork and scaffolding solutions to help carry out construction projects.[23] Furthermore, PERI uses software solutions like 3D representation, supplementary 5D information, or the BIM (Building information modeling) methodology.[24] The company provides its clients with materials from its rental par while also offering training sessions for the use of materials and optimizing the material requirements.

3D construction printing

With the sale and rental of 3D printers and corresponding services, the company is expanding its range of products and services to open up new markets and expand existing ones.[25][6]

Projects[edit]

Partly done: @Atomiccocktail: Reliable sources must cover (in more than a passing reference), any information that is added. I removed references that were only based on database-like sources that are meant to indescriminately catalog contruction projects. I also ommited mentions of founders who died, due to their relative irrelevance to the company. Thank you for the effort you put into the references. Pabsoluterince (talk) 16:14, 6 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Pabsoluterince , Thank you for your careful consideration of the proposal and for implementing what seems to you to be sufficiently reliable. Atomiccocktail (talk) 09:45, 7 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Edit request (2022-01-18: minor update)[edit]

Hello all,

Here comes a proposal for a minor update (paid edit). The company is now a Societas Europaea. I would be happy if the proposal would be implemented. Many thanks in advance. Atomiccocktail (talk) 17:10, 18 January 2022 (UTC) [reply]

1) In the infobox company, the term Aktiengesellschaft should be replaced by the term Societas Europaea.

2) As the last sentence in the History section, I suggest:

At the end of 2021, the company was transformed into a Societas Europaea.[1]

Maybe the problem is a language barrier, but I don't understand how that citation justifies the change. It appears to be a primary source and it doesn't contain any information about the company. Pabsoluterince (talk) 09:49, 19 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Pabsoluterince: Thank you for your question. Publications in Bundesanzeiger are mandatory and legally binding.
However, there is a second source. The change of legal form can also be found in a database file of the credit agency and debt collection service provider "Creditreform" (see for this company: Creditreform). We should therefore take it this as evidence:
<ref>Creditreform: Information on the change of legal form of PERI, Crefo number: 8270006609, as of January 17, 2022.</ref>
Atomiccocktail (talk) 10:57, 19 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Atomiccocktail: Unfortunately I am not technically advanced enough to cross check this evidence to use it for the changes. Feel free to submit some more references (preferably a WP:Secondary Source), or otherwise wait for another editor to help Pabsoluterince (talk) 12:12, 19 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Pabsoluterince: Here you can find the decisive sentence: „Die Hauptversammlung vom 15.11.2021 hat die formwechselnde Umwandlung der Gesellschaft in die PERI SE mit dem Sitz in Weißenhorn (Amtsgericht Memmingen HRB 19649) beschlossen.“
Translated:
„The Annual General Meeting of 15.11.2021 resolved to change the legal form of the Company to PERI SE with its registered office in Weißenhorn (Memmingen Local Court HRB 19649)”
Otherwise, I would simply suggest that only the info box is changed, not the "History" section. Because the fact that there is no longer a PERI AG, but only PERI SE, is already clear from the imprint.
Thank you. Atomiccocktail (talk) 12:36, 19 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Done @Atomiccocktail: I apologise, in this case a primary source would have been more than sufficient. Either way I have made the changes. Pabsoluterince (talk) 00:06, 20 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Pabsoluterince: Thank you very much for your help! Atomiccocktail (talk) 08:11, 20 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
