Initial removal[edit]

This article was initially deleted without notice in early Aug. for the stated reason that it read like an advertizement; I have recreated it with different language. I disagree that an article on such a subject should be deleted for that reason; it should have been just tagged for rewrite and not deleted. Also, simply because a system is the world's largest is not advertizing if it is true. Deanlaw (talk) 01:30, 18 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

We have "blatant advertising" for a speedy deletion criteria due to the large number of articles we get every day that exist for no purpose other than to promote an entity. You were, and are, welcome to discuss that deletion with me at any time (I was the administrator who deleted the article previously). I've taken a look at it this time, and it is a substantial improvement on the previous version; good work. Hersfold (t/a/c) 04:17, 18 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Correction to FERC Guidelines[edit]

Deanlaw: I am Phd student in energy policy at Clemson University. Doing some research on the RTOs and ISOs and found what I believe to be an error? You mention FERC order 880, 888 and 889. I could not find order 880. 888 is primary ruling for deregulating the wholesale side of electricity. Other than that your summary matches my reading of the available material. I suggest we make the change. I don't see any advertisement material here... Jskardon (talk) 22:14, 26 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I too searched for order 880. I found nothing. I suspect the editor meant order 888, which is quite relevant here, and mis-typed it as 880. I will add a citation to a reliable source to support order 888. BuzzWeiser196 (talk) 14:32, 20 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Correction needed to link[edit]

The link to "PJM Timeline" in the references needs to be corrected. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.219.107.152 (talk) 20:31, 15 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

PJM Expansion Incomplete[edit]

Although the article mentions some utilities which have joined PJM, this RTO has added a large number of utilities which aren't mentioned in the article, including some as recently as May 2011. I'm not "up" for researching the timeline of every utility which has joined PJM, but somebody should. Perhaps it's on their website? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Stomv (talkcontribs) 20:05, 4 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

"Largest Wholesale Market"[edit]

The link to PJM's 2007 Financial Report is dead. This is the only link supporting the claim that PJM is "currently the world's largest competitive wholesale electricity market". After a brief look on PJM's website, it appears that the 2007 Financial Report is no longer available. However, in the 2011 Annual Report, the system, with 185.6 GW of capacity, is said to be able to produce more electricity than Canada and Mexico combined. It strikes me that the statement about PJM being the largest system is not very precise (largest in terms of capacity? billings? number of members? number of customers?) and may be out of date if the 2007 document is the only reference. Since this statement seems to be mostly intended to give a general idea of the size of the system, perhaps it could be replaced by the one about PJM's capacity exceeding that of Canada and Mexico combined? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.237.232.115 (talk) 15:25, 13 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
