Extent of Packwood[edit]

Census-designated places are used by the U.S. Census Bureau to collect population statistics for specific unincorporated communities in the United States. They are used nationwide, and each one has an article in Wikipedia. In general, local planners define the boundaries of the CDPs in a process that works in concert with the Census Bureau. The population and extent of the CDP, whether for Packwood or for any CDP in the nation, is reported in the corresponding Wikipedia article. If there is a larger area that is referred to as Packwood, that of course should also be mentioned, but only with proper citation of published sources. For example, is there a regional or county plan? Some CDP articles point out differences between the CDP and the corresponding ZIP code area. Any estimates of population of the larger area can be mentioned, but again by referring to a published source and not, for instance, by adding up populations of areas which the editor feels comprise Packwood (which would constitute original research).
