Origin of the name, Paducah[edit]

According to The Texas Handbook, Online[1], "R. Potts, an early settler in the region, moved there from Paducah, Kentucky, in the mid-1800s and offered later arrivals free land in return for voting to name the new settlement Paducah and to make it the county seat."69.6.162.160 18:38, 5 September 2006 (UTC)Brian Pearson[reply]

something from early Paducah[edit]

I have a pair of reading glasses in original leather case made in Paducah, TX. They were made around 1900. I would like to donate them to the city, if there is anyone there interested in owning them.99.55.211.101 (talk) 03:08, 30 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

---It was my understanding there was a small museum at the Court House, possibly in the basement area. I'm not sure if it is still maintained or not, because it's been awhile since I've been there.Brian Pearson (talk) 23:50, 3 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
