Please see the page as a branch[edit]

The page Panchala Kingdom is one among the hundred or more pages, with the format Xxxx Kingdom, where Xxxx is the name of a kingdom which got mentioned in any of the fllowing Sanskrit literature work:-

Mahabharata

Ramayana

Puranas

Rig Veda, Yajur Veda, Sama Veda, Atharva Veda

The root of all these pages is Kingdoms of Ancient India. This page was made as a supplemet to all the above mentioned Sanskrit literatueres, so that any reader will be briefly familiarized with the geographic locations of the kingdoms, mentioned in them.

Major source of the geography of the kingdoms is Mahabharata. I have read many books on Mahabharata in various languages. But most usefeul among them was Kisari Mohan Ganguli's English translation of the original, Mahabharata written in Sanskrit by Krishna Dwaipayana Vyasa. See => http://www.sacred-texts.com/hin/maha/index.htm.

I am buliding up a database on the kingdoms, cities, villages, assylums, lakes, rivers, mountain peaks, holy places, mountain ranges etc mentioned in the Sanskrit literature, thus reecunstructing a map of the Ancient India. These hundreds of Wikipedia pages were made using a small portion of the data i collected.

I wish this page maintain its uniformity with the other pages like Kuru Kingdom, Vatsa Kingdom etc.

Merge page with Panchala[edit]

If you read the two pages, almost everything is repetitive. In fact Panchala has been more well authenticated than this article. I feel strongly that these articles should be merged.--Somesh Tripathi (talk) 15:07, 30 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

100% agree. This is a horribly written article with not much information, relying on a single, FLAWED source Pinkfloyd11 (talk) 20:31, 1 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
