Question about classification[edit]

Such a change would need a source. The recent revision of subspecies only considered living and non-fossil subspecies. There was no assessment of fossil species. While we might surmise that the date of the fossil record suggests a modern lion, it could also be an older lion that predated the migration of modern lions from north Africa into Asia, which occured 10-40k years ago.   Jts1882 | talk  08:36, 17 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
