CBS Television Distribution Group[edit]

It seems to me that CBS Corporation has formed the CBS Television Distribution Group and they're about to merge King World, CBS Paramount Domestic Television, and CBS Paramount International Television into one entity. More soon. King Shadeed 13:37, 28 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I have a feeling that CBS Paramount International Television--according to the CBS Corporation and CBS Television Distribution websites--still exist, along with its name and logos. That means CBS Television Distribution is the domestic syndication unit of CBS Paramount Television, which also includes CBS Paramount Network Television. Looks like CPITV is still the international distribution unit of CBS Paramount Television. Don-Don (talk) 03:09, 18 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Paramount Global Distribution Group[edit]

The external link to the official website clearly refers to this division as Paramount Global Distribution Group rather than Paramount Global Content Licensing. But for some reason people keep reverting edits trying to update this? Averyfunkydude23 (talk) 18:41, 15 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

(clerking...moved to bottom of page —C.Fred (talk) 20:32, 15 March 2022 (UTC))[reply]
This in fact appear to be a requested move. At the moment I am making no comment on the merits of such a move. As per WP:BRD, I have restored the status quo version of the page until a consensus can be determined about moving this article to Paramount Global Distribution Group. I've looked into this more, and I'm going to tag Kp2016rockin. On February 19th, KP2016rockin moved the article from Paramount Global Distribution Group to the current title Paramount Global Content Licensing. The article indicates this is due to rebranding that occurred after February 16, 2022 (but no specific date is provided). No sources for this have been provided, nor can I find that confirmed anywhere through a Google search. I'm inclined to support a move back over a redirect if no sources can be provided to confirm such rebranding occurred. Singularity42 (talk) 20:53, 15 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, I'm going to start a formal requested move below. Singularity42 (talk) 21:08, 15 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Paramount Global Content LicensingParamount Global Distribution Group – There's no dispute that the parent company changed its name to Paramount Global, but what is this sub-company called. The sub-company's website says it is Paramount Global Distribution Group, and the article was moved accordingly. However, on February 19th, the article was moved again to Paramount Global Content Licensing and an unsourced sentence was added to the article claiming that this was a second rebranding by the parent company. I cannot find any secondary sources confirming that. The only source I can find is the primary source - the sub-company's website - and while the website title as the Content Licensing name, the website itself still says it is the Distribution Group name. Therefore, unless there are other, contrary, more reliable sources, the article should be moved back over redirect. Singularity42 (talk) 21:08, 15 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment In addition to the above, at https://www.paramount.com/brands, Paramount indicates that the brand name is the one with Distribution Group, not Content Licensing. Singularity42 (talk) 21:30, 15 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support, that's what the references seem to indicate and their own branding pages. Canterbury Tail talk 22:02, 15 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support, although my edit summary on this article's page may have been vague (apologies on that), I do support this move, all signs seem to indicate that while the company's website has a URL showing "content licensing", everything within that site indicates the correct name should be "distribution group". In fact, when you go to the site's main page, there is a logo indicating "Paramount Global Distribusion Group" on the top left side, and under their "Global Brands" section, there is only a link for Distribution Group and nothing whatsoever for Content Licensing. - SanAnMan (talk) 18:47, 17 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
