Image is wrong[edit]

I have no idea who uploaded that image, but they obviously have no clue what paraphyses are. The image does not depict an "aerial paraphysis" as wrongly claimed (no such thing exists), but an ascospore with septa. The spore likely belongs to genus Geoglossum. This image should be removed by an editor.

Note[edit]

Hi,

I think this Paraphyses page could do with a layman's introductory sentence... Something to explain immediately what Paraphyses are in non-technical language. --Tomhannen 21:37, 18 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Paraphyses in relation to ferns?[edit]

This article seems to be missing a discussion of paraphyses on ferns, where they are mixed with the sporangia, for protection. Naralis 22:02, 18 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for noting that - do you think you could add the info?Heliocybe 22:41, 18 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Name[edit]

Shouldn't this be renamed to its singular form? Jack the Stripper 15:17, 29 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
