This article is redundant with Grammatical tense, many of the articles linked to in the fields of study section (most notably Memory), and should be redundant with (but does not mention the scientific uncertainty about the existence of the past which results from uncertainty about the) Arrow of time.

The "past" is a notable topic, so deleting it wholesale is probably not the right move. At the very least, an AfD would allow more thorough consideration of alternatives, such as redirects and merges.

What is the difference between future and past?[edit]

Discussion[edit]

Hmmm. How do we know that the past exists? In reality, the past is just the present that is no more, so how can it be if it no longer is?

The past is just a construct in our minds. Hence it is always changing as we rebuild it with every new experience

The past does exist[edit]

The past is a mind category that we use and a thing that doesn't quite exist as a tangible thing but it exists nonetheless, it's just that humans are time constrained in the time continuum. Category:Past?[edit]

Why don't we include the past-related things into their category?

The past is the object of such fields as history, archaeology, archaeoastronomy, historical linguistics, geology (historical geology), paleontology, paleobotany, paleoethnobotany, palaeogeography, paleoclimatology, cosmology

– or rather, their categories should be included, if they exist.

Also: memory, retro, antiquarian, fossil, history.

New "light cone" image[edit]

We have prepared a new "light cone" image. The intention was to imply the correct scale of space-time relative to the observer. Interstellar light-years vs years scales seemed appropriate. Memory as a field of study[edit]
