Woulds it not be useful to say what he did on each of the projects rather than just having a list of credits? I.e. just a note as to whether he produced, wrote music, wrote lyrics or performed with each of the artists? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Thefuguestate (talkcontribs) 16:53, 9 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I would second that. This article is rather 'thin' for someone who has been involved with so many artists. Info as that suggested above along with things like how he got into the business, first break, how he went from musician to writer and beyond. Due to personal stuff at this moment this is not a task I am able to take on, but I'm certain there are a few someones out there that may be able to make a start.THX1136 (talk) 01:31, 20 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Claims of working with Frank Zappa?[edit]

Despite an exhaustive search I have never been able to find any reliable source of Patrick Leonard's claim of work with Frank Zappa in 1976 or any other year. Where does this claim come from? I suppose it is possible, but it seems quite unlikely as this claim has never come to light until very recently. Seems mostly likely that Mr. Leonard may have auditioned for Zappa's band but was not hired. If it was only an audition that is not the same as working with Zappa. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.212.137.171 (talk) 16:37, 22 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The claim is in a 2017 article here, but in Spanish. No source is cited for the claim. https://the-m-magazine.com/2017/12/31/the-producers-patrick-leonard/

The claim is also in 2020 article here, but again, no evidence. https://www.stereogum.com/2110323/the-number-ones-madonnas-live-to-tell/columns/the-number-ones/ — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.212.137.171 (talk) 18:10, 22 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

After more than a year, still no reliable source. If PL did in fact work with Zappa it's very strange that a source can't be found. Zappa fanatics have posted A HUGE AMOUNT OF INFORMATION on the internet about who worked with him and when. I did find this other reference to PL and FZ. It also questions the reliability of this claim but does not answer the question. This page appears to date back to 2017.

This article also makes the claim but does not provide any details. It looks like they may have just repeated the claim from the Wikipedia article.

In light of no evidence I will now be removing this unsubstantiated claim from the article.24.143.109.40 (talk) 18:26, 15 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
