Reason for re-creating the page[edit]

Patrick Naughton played in important part in the Java history: he co-designed Java, he wrote the HotJava navigator. As for the personal stuff (sex charges), it is all over the internet, as his trial was high profile at the time.

As for the alleged copyrighted stuff, the javastuff.org article is titled "History of Java (from Wikipedia)", so they can't claim they possess the copyright. I'm thus removing the tag. Hervegirod (talk) 11:15, 2 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia's contributors can, however. :) We have to give credit when we copy material from one article to another. I'm leaving more detailed information at your talk page. Future readers might check WP:C, WP:Merge and WP:Split for more, as well as the WMF:Terms of Use. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 11:40, 2 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Objection for speedy deletion[edit]

It is claimed on the tag: It was previously deleted via a deletion discussion, is substantially identical to the deleted version, and any changes do not address the reasons for which the material was deleted.. I could not find archived discussion about this deletion, so I don't know if this automated tag is true or not (I neither had access to the original article, meaning I did not repost it, it is really a re-creation). The only original reason I could access when I created the article was per Ticket#: 2007090310007655 - subject is of very minor notability + privacy concerns:

  • very minor notability: Patrick Naughton played in important part in the Java history: he co-designed Java, developed the HotJava navigator, and also wrote the first reference Java book (though I admit I did not put this last part in the article). He also is one of the first to develop Java enterprise servers for big web sites, even if JavaEE did not exist at the time.
  • As for the privacy concern, his trial is all over the internet (and not on small web sites or blogs only), and it even spawn a discussion about if law enforcement agents could fake their identity on the internet to arrest criminals (it was one of the first cases of "sex crimes" on internet). It turned out that the speedy deletion tag was put on the article by mistake. However, this thread can still be useful for later reference about this article. Hervegirod (talk) 12:26, 2 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

education/early life[edit]

is there any reason to not have an early life section?--2601:7C0:C400:320F:6518:E4B3:87A8:8957 (talk) 13:17, 11 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
