Untitled[edit]

Paul Chambers and Ray Brown are the greatest bass musicians to ever live. I am kicking back on an Easter Sunday afternoon, listening to Chambers play with Art Pepper. It's good for the soul...God Bless the guy.

Wynton Kelly Trio performance[edit]

I added "Smokin' At The Half Note" to the list of suggested recordings.

Lovely writing here, but[edit]

I thought at least an attempt at non-pov writing was the preferred approach here. This thing reads like a personal essay intended for a jazz magazine, not an encyclopedia. (Duke Ellington airport??? Come on now.

There's also an incredible video clip on www.youtube.com. Under "The Wynton Kelly Trio with John Coltrane". Unbelievable, it's like re-discovering Paul Chambers.

The author leaves a lot of great bass players out. Certainly the list of names associated with the extended capabilities of the instrument simply must include Scott Lefaro and Gary Peacock, and lets not forget Charlie Mingus. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.196.121.71 (talk) 17:25, 9 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Largely plagiarzed w/o citation[edit]

Most of the "Influence" section is copied straight from the liner notes for the P.C. album Whims of Chambers. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.111.192.232 (talk) 01:31, 26 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I am affraid it is not only the "influence" section that has been copied from the liner notes (google for LEONARD FEATHER who authored them), but the whole article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 195.169.26.3 (talk) 12:31, 8 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. When going to add information in the infobox, there was a vast body of information with Allmusic as the only source listed 3 times. No mention of where he died, and too many peacock words--Leahtwosaints (talk) 03:00, 20 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Paul Chambers discography[edit]

Support split - Discography section takes up more than half of the page and should be split to a new article entitled Paul Chambers discography. --Jax 0677 (talk) 19:27, 5 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Article Needs Organization[edit]

Hello All,

I noticed that this article has sections all over the place that I feel could be condensed or removed entirely. A lot of it seems out of the scope of a basic overview of Mr. Chambers to someone who isn't deeply interested in jazz. I also observed a lot of opinionated statements here that are un-encyclopedic. I tried my best to remove the most obvious ones. Sethcampbell7293 (talk) 03:00, 27 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
