Notability[edit]

I'm not sure if this fella is notable or not, but I've Wikified the article in the mean time. Stu ’Bout ye! 15:07, 27 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Flag[edit]

Removed yet again. Consensus is that flags should not be used without good reason, there's no evidence of any reason why a flag is required. The guideline has consensus, it's up to editors wishing to include a flag to prove why this article should be an exception. The flag serves no purpose except decoration, thus fails the guideline. The discussion linked to here was before the guideline was accepted. This version shows it was a proposed guideline at the time of the discussion, it's now an accepted guideline. It is not mere decoration, any more than text or the image of Haller itself is mere decoration; it is the flag of his place of birth. It is information—visual information. I encourage you to remove all flags from infoboxes, and we'll see a real "consensus" on the use of flags in the infobox; Sincerely, if you are confident in the current guideline then I would encourage this. Where is the new consensus you have spoken to? I don't see any consensus on the talk page which says flag icons should not be used? At any rate, it is information and not mere "decoration"—furthermore, there is absolutely nothing factually inaccurate about the usage. A case where editors have run out of things to do with their time. I will place it back in. (Mind meal (talk) 22:19, 25 January 2008 (UTC))[reply]

I am confident in the guideline. I'm also confident in guideline WP:BIO which he fails, so let's just delete the article. One Night In Hackney303 22:25, 25 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
And if you want to know why a flag shouldn't be used, try reading the main page of the guideline. Do not emphasize nationality without good reason, Not for use in locations of birth and death, and Help the reader rather than decorate. One Night In Hackney303 22:38, 25 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Well, you aren't vindictive in the least. Notability will easily be established. (Mind meal (talk) 22:40, 25 January 2008 (UTC))[reply]
Not really. Oh, and as Haller was born a Catholic, it's even more inappropriate to use that particular flag to represent his place of birth, as it's a flag traditionally rejected by Catholics. One Night In Hackney303 23:16, 25 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
