1930-31[edit]

A J&P Coats team took part in the Rhode Island soccer league in 30-31. They played in the senior division along with Mt.Pleasant, Bradford, South County, U.S. Finishing, Olneyville, and Davol Rubber. The junior division had Ferri Spa, Greystone, Fox Point, Central Falls, St. Roccos, Mt. Pleasant Jrs., and Hughesdale. That season they competed for the Kerr Cup, Times Cup, and were eliminated from the National Amateur cup by Victoria Mills. Libro0 (talk) 04:44, 17 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

1929[edit]

The Coats played their last game on March 23, 1929 against the Brooklyn Wanderers winning 4-0. The J&P Athletic Association felt that it was a drain on the treasury to maintain a pro team and decided to confine their activities to amateur sports. Libro0 (talk) 00:08, 10 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
