In the real Universe[edit]

I'm wondering why we need the 'In the real Universe...' qualifier -- as opposed to what? Wouldn't saying just 'Galaxies are not distributed evenly throughout observable space, but typically found in groups or clusters' do just as well? Also, am I alone in finding a few odd turns of phrase in this article? Greginnj 23:03, 13 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Velocity versus motion[edit]

These terms seem to be used interchangeably here. IMHO they are different. Velocity is how fast something is going, but motion incorporates many other things including vector and I suppose rotation as well. Kortoso (talk) 22:53, 26 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Notes on Sources[edit]

In the Cosmology section, it would probably help to find an article or source describing the grouping of galaxies. Right now, the sources listed at the bottom of the page are essentially definitions. Articles describing the use/purpose of a peculiar velocity will help strengthen this page. It may also be a good idea to put in some mathematical formulas that may apply/help describe what exactly peculiar velocity is in a more quantitative form rather than qualitative.
