Position[edit]

Pedro Passos Coelho is the new leader of PSD political party. He is now in the same capacity as José Manuel Barroso in 1999 - 2004. Excelsior Deo (talk) 13:49, 5 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I now know that, and have removed the CSD. Ironholds (talk) 13:49, 5 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

"neoliberal platform"[edit]

The part on him being the first person to present a neoliberal platform in the PSD is false because: Cavaco Silva and Barroso already both presented some neoliberal features before; Ferreira Leite, despite her claimed centre-leftism is the closest to one in the party; there aren't pure neoliberals in the PSD (only a tiny minority) as most are with the CDS, as Paulo Portas himself is mostly with that line of thought; no one in a party of an almost bipartisan system would even dare for electoral reasons to go full neoliberal as it would cost votes in a country with such a collectivist tradition and dependency of the state; he stated he wants the state not as a economic "player" but as a "referee", which may not be precisely social democratic but it ain't neoliberal either; he personally states that the questions are really between old and new policies and not right and left and tends to be pragmatic and think out of the box; many liberals disown him. But it is true that he is always presented as such inside the party by their opponents and that image was passed to the outside, so it can't be unstated in the article. I'll correct that line and add some sources. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.242.169.157 (talk) 09:43, 10 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Broken link[edit]

the link to the personal webpage in the box leads to an add page. I know of no personal page of PPCoelho except for a brief biography inside the PSD's own page at http://www.psd2011.com/ppc.asp. Should we delete that link and replace it with this one, or simply have no link at all, or link to party homepage? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2.82.167.220 (talk) 02:06, 6 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I have done it. This link is good! Thanks.--Cruks (talk) 11:07, 7 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Leader of the Opposition[edit]

Could you define what is the Leader of the Opposition in Portugal? As by the article definition, Portuguese politics do not fit on it. - B.Lameira (talk) 19:00, 26 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
