Content[edit]

There is missing reference to his work done in the movie "Blow" with Johnny Depp released in 2001. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blow_(film)

It seems to me that some of the content of this article is irrelevant, such as much of the 1991 arrest section. This page should be about the character, and things like films and shows relevant to him. Paul Reubans already has his own page. What do you think? 65.175.185.55 (talk) 04:03, 23 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Most of the 1991 arrest section relates to the ramifications the arrest had on the character. I think aspects of Reubens' life that have a direct impact on the character are appropriate, so long as they are written in a manner that explains this impact. There was a paragraph there about the court settlement, which I agree, appeared to related only to Reubens, and not to the character. I removed it. -Verdatum (talk) 16:15, 23 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I do not know What peewee Herman did wrong at a convention but I really want to find out badly. Can anyone tell me what peewee did At a convention tell me something tell me what convention or something please tell me —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.74.98.37 (talk) 18:31, 31 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Honors and pop culture references[edit]

In the late 80s and early 90s, Boston talk radio host and newspaper columnist Howie Carr gave the nickname Pee Wee to then-Mass. governor Mike Dukakis, since Dukakis, who ran for President in 1988, was slight of build and wore suits that may have resembled Herman's attire. Fellow talk radio host Jerry Williams had a bit which had Pee Wee say, "What's the secret word today?". The voice of Dukakis follows: "Taxes...", then a clip of a woman screaming. Pee Wee returns: "So when you hear the secret word...scream real loud!" — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.24.189.129 (talk) 12:56, 5 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Apparently Wikipedia is "the free encyclopedia that anyone can edit" unless the option to edit the page has been locked out. Huh. In an episode of the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoon, there is a mischevious guest character named Mr. Ogg who has a physical resemblance to Mr. Mytzlplk of the Superman comic book, but he has the voice and mannerisms of Pee-wee Herman, right down to speaking in a high-pitched child-like voice and even using Pee-wee's trademark laugh. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.52.105.183 (talk) 03:59, 26 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Please Add news of 05.20.2010[edit]

Can't do it myself as the page is protected... <yawn>... but the stage show heading to Broadway in all the current media coverage I viewed is actually titled The Pee-wee Herman Show, not The Pee-wee Herman Stage Show or The Pee-wee Herman Stage Show: The Return, and much of the coverage refers to the show as a revival of the original 1980s stage show The Pee-wee Herman Show.

BTW, public pc/can't log in, but User:Snozzwanger here... just so ya know. Thanks! 98.242.73.218 (talk) 21:36, 20 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please remove the "Species" part of the infobox. It's not needed for human characters and it's too obvious that Pee-wee is a human. 144.202.3.27 (talk) 03:18, 12 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

You need to add information related to his appearances on TV shows, including in the Filmography. Anybody who actually watches TV knows that Pee-wee appeared in six episodes of Murphy Brown, from 1995-1997 (https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000607/?ref_=fn_al_nm_1). This was completely ignored in the Wikipedia entry, which means it was done willfully, or out of sheer ignorance of the subject. 75.168.67.221 (talk) 02:18, 27 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Footnote 15, the Time article "Bigger than Pee Wee" has a broken link. If you change the hostname to "content.time.com" the link works, but you hit a pay wall. If you search google for it, you get this URL which appears to contain the whole article:

Insert section concerning Rubens' 2002 pornography arrest as follows:

On November 16, 2001 Police searched Rubens' Hollywood Hills home and siezed computer equipment and boxes described at the time as "vintage erotica". Rubens subsequently surrendered Friday, November 15 2002 misdemeanor charge of possessing materials depicting children under the age of 18 engaged in sexual conduct, and was subsequently released on $20,000 bail. Ruben subsequently plead guilty to obscenity charges, and the child pornography charges were dismissed.

While this event would be good to include here, this suggested language is too close of a paraphrase to the provided source to not run afoul of WP:PLAGIARISM in my opinion ("Airing Nov. 26, 2021, the Pee-wee Herman Radio Hour was a one-time broadcast that saw the iconic character play KCRW music DJ, with guest appearances from Jack White and Charo as well as Pee-wee’s Playhouse characters like Chairry (Alison Mork), Conky (Josh Myers) and Miss Yvonne (Lynne Marie Stewart).")
