From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Peter Gilmour is a sportsman of some note. Not only is he an America's Cup veteran but is also President of the World Match Racing Tour which he has formerly won no less than 4 times. He was instrumental in the creation of the sport of 'match racing' which is validated by the International Sailing Federation (ISAF).

He has also won the Western Australia Sportsman of the year in 1987 and he is an iconic figure in the sport of sailing, akin to David Beckham (football / soccer) and Frank Bruno (boxing) both of whom have wiki pages.

I believe that Peter Gilmour has earned his wiki stripes and deserves a page. I do agree however that regular individuals should not be allowed to post autobiographical wiki pages. With Peter Gilmour this is not the case.

Bodensee Lindau Harbour July 2019[edit]

I met Peter by accident in Lindau a few weeks ago, when he arrived (directly at a bar, where I was sitting) with a Bavaria 35. Not knowing who he is, I asked about the flag. New Zeeland? I asked. Australia he replied friendly, I am Australian. I am glad to be able to help him with the ropes, what he replied with some friendly words.

Later at home I found out I met Peter Gilmour. I would say: a real friendly sportsman!
