Unexplained addition of full stop

Why was this page moved? This article uses British English and the British custom is to not put the period after shortened words if the last letter of the shortened word is the same as in the long word. Ref1 Ref2. if it ain't broke, don't fix it  Nixinova  T  C  02:05, 1 January 2019 (UTC)

I would like to have the power to edit this article because I would like to put down more content about this article. I believe that in the PewDiePie support section it should mention that Mr. Beast was the catlyst for the subscribe to PewDiePie movement and the leading cause of the attention that content creators have given him in this "battle" I also believe more content could be added about the other supporters and to other parts of the article like the Other section could be improved on and a better stream could be choosen because FlareTV has shown bias towards the PewDiePie camp(i.e holding the record for most repeats of Bitch Lasagna). While a stream like the SocialBlade stream has had more content and has not shown bias towards either side. Thank you. BMO4744 (talk) 21:17, 7 January 2019 (UTC)

Is this a trick for PewDiePie to gain even more REAL subscribers?

I noticed that T-Series and PewDiePie had been only 100,000-300,000 subscribers apart for months, but never passed each other. It makes me think it could be intentional to trick people into subscribing to PewDiePie to prevent T-Series from winning. So maybe PewDiePie or someone bought subscribers for T-Series just to trick people into subscribing to PewDiePie so PewDiePie would gain REAL subscribers and not fake bought subscribers who wouldn't watch videos. Sub count stream change

The FlareTV stream is very biased towards PewDiePie and I am thinking about changing it to something more neutral. I believe the Socialblade stream would be more fitting. If you oppose or have another stream that would be better please commentBMO4744 (talk) 15:43, 2 February 2019 (UTC)

The original FlareTV stream was taken down because of copyright issues (which have since been resolved). I don't think it's even known who owns that channel, it just got very popular. I put a link to the Social Blade stream because it's more formal live subscription count. FallingGravity 19:09, 2 February 2019 (UTC)

It says t series has 140 million subs. Obviously untrue, they are still neck and neck with pewds 84 mil. 47.7.220.20 (talk) 05:36, 8 February 2019 (UTC)

Formality

The article should be more formal. Introducing the article by saying "PewDiePie vs T-Series is a competition" sounds casual as it was never official. Neither side officially challenged the other as they would in an organized competition. T-Series simply gained subscribers and approached PewDiePie's sub count. This is what I think would be a better way to begin the article:

"T-Series has been projected to surpass PewDiePie in subscribers and become the most-subscribed channel on the video-sharing website, YouTube."

The first section is also informal due to its title, "Belligerents". "Belligerent" is a term only formally used in the context of war and they are recognized under international law which does not apply to either channel. I propose that the section instead be called "Channels involved".0737290632t2x273n (talk) 15:15, 12 February 2019 (UTC)

Sources

@344917661X: the Radioandmusic source is less than optimal but it's the only source mentioning PewDiePie. There is no shortage of more established reliable sources like the Economic Times talking specifically about T-Series (but not mentioning PewDiePie). wumbolo ^^^ 23:25, 4 January 2019 (UTC)

How about using SocialBlade as a reference instead? Their stats clearly show that T-Series became the most viewed YouTube channel in February and not in January like the other source said, here are socialblade stats that back this claim up [1][2]. 344917661X (talk) 02:23, 5 January 2019 (UTC)

promoters of Pewdiepie

Is it possible to have a list of all the youtubers that promoted Pewdiepie and every promotion that happened outside of youtube? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jeezuschrist (talkcontribs) 23:02, 13 February 2019 (UTC)

If they're mentioned in reliable sources, yes.  Nixinova  T  C  07:27, 16 February 2019 (UTC)

There need to be a part added where it explains that tseries overtook pewdiepie briefly after an inactive sub purge took away 20,000 of pewdiepies subs, leaving tseries with a 2,000 subgap over pewdiepie.

Thought of something to add to the article

Maybe this article could also mention the references Jaiden Animations put in YouTube Rewind 2018 (such as PewDiePie's chair and the "Sub 2 P" on the shelf in the background). VibeScepter (talk) (contributions) 10:49, 2 January 2019 (UTC)

Meme Review

Musk and Roiland didn't mention T-Series in their segment of Meme Review. Unless they reveal that they were trying to help PewDiePie stay ahead of T-Series, I believe that the information about Meme Review should be moved to the section about PewDiePie's reactions or moved entirely to the article on PewDiePie. wumbolo ^^^ 21:54, 22 February 2019 (UTC)

  • X-Editor has removed the content. I agree that it doesn't belong here as long as there is no actual connection to the fight with T-Series reported in WP:RS. Further, PewDiePie doesn't talk/complain about T-Series in the Meme Review. wumbolo ^^^ 21:05, 23 February 2019 (UTC)

Response section is incomplete

PewDiePie uploads videos in "response" to T-Series all the time, mostly it's just the title and a short remark at the beginning. But since the "I might as well upload this since we are losing" video is listed, should maybe the others be listed as well?

So there are at least 9 additional videos about it or mentioning it, with similar relevance to the topic as the "since we are losing" video. Should they all be in the article? I don't think that's useful, he'll continue to make one of these every few days anyway. Fabian42 (talk) 16:17, 2 March 2019 (UTC)

We should try to only include what is reported in a reliable source and cite it. I agree that a general statement about his videos should be enough. wumbolo ^^^ 17:05, 2 March 2019 (UTC)

After the text "A number of PewDiePie's fans and supporters have also been making anti-Indian remarks and using racial slurs."

It would be good to mention Pewdiepie's response, because I feel otherwise it seems a bit biased:

"You've probably seen these livestreams where it's pewdiepie vs t-series. But there's a part of this I really don't like. And it's a shame because it isn't the vast majority of people. But sometimes, in these comments (and you guys have told me this as well), you see comments such as fuck indians or fuck indians c-word. Just really distasteful and unnecessary comments. And I obviously make Indian jokes and stuff like that. But I do that of all countries and this not what I'm about and I know my fanbase isn't about this either."

A shortened version of this should be included in the article.

Timestap - 2:40

By the way, pewdiepie's own video where he says his response is a reliable source, because it is a Primary source where he says his statement on camera.

Thanks for the suggestion. This is already mentioned in the section about PewDiePie's response. However, I wouldn't be opposed to having something like "... which PewDiePie has condemned" with a link to the section below elaborating on it. wumbolo ^^^ 22:50, 2 March 2019 (UTC)

Did you know that…

PewDiePie lost 20,000 subs one time, dropping him below T-series, which broke his streak for longest time most subbed channel... The proof video ID is: NOZ25E9vUc0 -24.180.87.149 (talk) 14:20, 3 March 2019 (UTC)

I think the title "Subscribe to PewDiePie" (quote marks included) fits better this article

Reasoning:

1. It's nowhere near factual "PewDiePie VS T-Series" provided neither of them have, not jokingly, declare themselves in a competition for subscribers. Moreover, this has all the features of an organized movement- subscribers have made more echo about the issue, being guided by a reason (of sorts) and having a fixed goal (keeping PewDiePie as the most subscribed YouTube channel).

2. I think the format "X vs Y" doesn't respect the principle of Neutral Point of View, since the format is explicitly to convey a protagonist dueling an opponent. In this case, "PewDiePie vs T-Series" not only reflects the preference of the editors, but their geographical location (not so accurately but still) as well.

Eligio Budde (talk) 02:50, 4 March 2019 (UTC)

"Champion vs challenger" is a fine and neutral format. wumbolo ^^^ 09:01, 4 March 2019 (UTC)
The current name of this article is much more neutral than what you're suggesting.  Nixinova  T  C  19:29, 5 March 2019 (UTC)
