Untitled[edit]

It seems like the Xenophon passage (Memorabilia 2.2.9) does more to confirm Socrates' veneration of mothers than his veneration of his mother specifically. The passage tells us little of his relationship with his own mother. Perhaps the reference to it, therefore, doesn't belong in the article??....Isokrates 16:08, 22 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Burnet quote[edit]

I undid the edit by user 38.124.159.2; the user had claimed that Burnet never said it. But he did. The quote is taken from page 668 of volume 11 of the Encyclopaedia. A pdf of that volume can be viewed here: https://archive.org/download/EncyclopaediaOfReligionAndEthics.Hastings-selbie-gray.13Vols Isokrates (talk) 21:09, 27 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
