The PvPI was initiated by the Government of India in July 2010 with All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi as National Coordination Centre (NCC), which was later shifted from AIIMS, New Delhi to Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission, Ghaziabad on 15th April 2011. ^[1]

@Shatavisa Mukherjee: Thanks, I see it now. I reworded it a bit to include information that the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation was the government organization to establish it. I also removed the text about the National Coordination Center because I think that is just a department within the PvPI, or that it is another name for the PvPI. Thanks for clarifying. @Blue Rasberry: I appreciate the statement of CDSCO initiating it. But this is to clarify that the programme (PvPI) has a national coordination center (initially AIIMS, New Delhi and now IPC, Ghaziabad) which acts as a pivotal center coordinating with all regional ADR Monitoring Centres. This is the general organogram followed for all national pharmacovigilance centres under WHO International Drug Monitoring Programme. Hence reworded the text. @Shatavisa Mukherjee: Can you help me understand the situation?

This source says that the Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission is the National Coordination Centre for the Pharmacovigilance Programme of India. Is this correct?
What moved from Delhi to Ghaziabad? Was it both the PvPI and the NCC, or just the NCC?
Do you know of some source with more information about the NCC?

If this article mentions the NCC then I think that we should describe what that is and how it relates to the PvPI. Thoughts? Blue Rasberry (talk) 15:08, 4 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

IPC Ghaziabad is the NCC for the Programme. PvPI is the Programme, with its NCC now being IPC Ghaziabad since 15 April 2011 (Initially it was AIIMS, New Delhi). To understand, NCC is somewhat like a headquarter, however the term NCC is better used and is technically correct. I agree with you in enriching the page more on NCC. I shall work on it and add.
