Authority?[edit]
Why is the authority listed as Roberts, 1944? The authority is either Leach, 1815 or Gray, 1835. I'm not sure which sources should be deferred to. Phasmida Species File writes Leach's use of the family name, later amended to Phasmidae and then Phasmatidae by Gray in 1835, still leaves Leach as the original author i.e. the family-group name retains its authorship and date independently, if its ending is changed or not.
however it seems plenty of sources list Gray, 1835 as the family authority, e.g., Hennemann & Conle, 2008 doi:10.11646/zootaxa.1906.1.1 Umimmak (talk) 08:19, 12 February 2022 (UTC)
