Do the math[edit]

How could ex-Phrenocon member found DTD and SAE? Both of those fraternities were founded in the 1800s and Phrenocon didn't come around until 1906....maybe I am missing something.--Thunder 20:14, 6 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The text says that Phrenocon members founded the MIAMI CHAPTERS of Delt and SAE. 70.105.85.174 00:06, 7 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

oh ok, missed the small but important detail...--Thunder 01:00, 7 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Mascot[edit]

Phi Kappa Tau has no official mascot. Read the Ritual (assuming you are a member) and you will find no reference to a mascot. The unicorn does appear in some Phi Tau symbolism (pre-1947 coat of arms and Grand Seal) but is not a mascot. The only reason I didn't delete the entire reference is that I am aware that some chapters do consider the Unicorn to be the fraternity's mascot but it is not a widely held or nationally-sanctioned practice. I'd prefer dropping this reference entirely.205.188.116.197 21:53, 25 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Mascot[edit]

I have also heard that the national mascot is the bullfrog, but that is only something I have heard at my chapter and never from any other Phi Tau.

Our chapter continues this claim as well, but no one's sure where the bullfrog came from...what chapter are you from? -Epsilon Gamma, TCNJ —Preceding unsigned comment added by 159.91.142.145 (talk) 06:02, 24 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Jeffrey Miller a Phi Tau?[edit]

I am curious to know whether or not Jeffrey Miller (one of the students shot on May 4th at Kent State) was actually ever a Phi Tau. There are numerous references on the internet to him being in a fraternity at Michigan State, but there is no definative evidence that he was a Phi Tau. You would think there would be something on the phikappatau.org website that would keep in memory the his loss of life. Just wondering.

re: Jeff Miller[edit]

Here's what we know about Jeffrey Miller and Phi Tau. His older brother is a member of the Phi Tau Chapter at Michigan State. Jeff pledged Phi Tau (the national fraternity has his pledge form in the archives) as the chapter was going out of business. According to a letter in the Phi Tau archives from his brother, Jeff was initiated but the form and fees were never sent to the national fraternity so he never made it on to the rolls officially.DIDouglass 01:09, 17 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Roland Maxwell, creed[edit]

Someone keeps changing Roland Maxwell's middle initial to "T." You're going to have to provide some documentation other than the published histories (Ball, 1996 and Anson, 1957) about this. Maxwell rarely used his middle initial and I can't tell you what his middle name was but the published histories indicate the initial is "W." Someone also changed the reference to the date November 19, 1950 from "written" to "adopted". In fact, the creed probably never was opficially "adopted" but maxwell did write it between the Bowling Green chartering and a foundation meeting in Columbus, Ohio. So "written" is more appropriate. By the way, the creed was influenced by the Sigma Chi Creed written by George Ade. DIDouglass 23:25, 30 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Maxwell's name per the 1920 US Census was Roland W Maxwell, so William is likely his middle name.[1] HeavyDrop (talk) 05:01, 11 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:PKT COA.JPG[edit]

Image:PKT COA.JPG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion.
