Hello, your citation is valid. Thanks for doing that. Κοματσουλάκης (talk) 02:53, 19 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding content relevant to HB1523[edit]

Hello,

I have removed a paragraph from the page indicating responses to HB 1523 from sources other than Governor Bryant and his administration. With this in mind, any sort of information like that should instead be placed on the wikipedia article for the bill itself. As it is linked in the section, I find that it would be more appropriate to write said information off of the Governors wikipedia, as the response included before my removal made no reference to him, and is therefore not relevant to this page. I believe if anyone wishes to replace that information, they should do so in a different way. Κοματσουλάκης (talk) 02:56, 19 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

HB-1523 "controversy"[edit]

Why should that be a controversy? It is a normal republican position. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.47.74.232 (talk) 21:35, 9 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Controversy occurs not just within a particular party, and state laws can be quite controversial beyond state boundaries. It's a big world out there. RivertorchFIREWATER 06:24, 14 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Why is there no mention that Phil Bryant is related to Carolyn and Roy Bryant?[edit]

Phil Bryant is the nephew of Roy Bryant, the man who murdered Emmett Till. This seems a rather important bit of information to leave out of his bio. But it's not mentioned anywhere on his page. [1] Shrinkydink07 (talk) 00:24, 21 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

This apparently false claim is based on a single quote in a USA Today article. When contacted, the woman quoted admitted she could not verify the connection, per this investigation by a local Mississippi news site. While both men have the last name "Bryant," that appears to be a coincidence and nothing more. [2] --Genillin (talk) 01:22, 19 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Mdoc concerns[edit]

I am a parent of an mdoc inmate and I am beyond concerned for my son's safety and welfare. I have not talked to him in 5 days. They are being locked down 24/7, unable to make any calls home, being fed sandwiches Dailey, unable to buy food off canteen, handcuffed while showering, etc...my son was transferred to East meridian facility during this lockdown, although Ms. Hall clearly states in her press release there will be no transports unless emergency, not true, also how did the inmates escape from parchman while under lockdown? I am aware of the cell phones and drugs within the system but what Ms. Hall fails to mention is how the cell phones and drugs are getting in the prisons. Clearly it is the guards and staff. Thanks to the cell phones we have been made aware of the deplorable living conditions they are forced to live in as well as the violence. Ms. Hall states it is gang related but there are several staff members at the meridian facility that are in these gangs as well, I know all it takes is a G.E.D and minimal training to become a C.O., guard or staff at all the mdoc facilities. I am appalled at the lack of information we are receiving from the officials as well as the lack of response from all of the above. I want to know what is being done about my son's safety? When can he call home? When can he eat something other than a sandwich? When can he order canteen? Sincerely, A VERY CONCERNED PARENT Concerned.parent.of.mdoc.inmate (talk) 18:38, 5 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
