Statements moved for sourcing[edit]

I am looking for sources for these statements found in the article, if someone can find them, please reinsert, thanks!

"We're going to position Phoenix as a major city in the United States," Gordon said on election night.
His three priorities for the city are: Public Safety, Education and Jobs – three things that he describes as being “intertwined” – because education leads to jobs, and a job leads away from crime.
His motto states that Phoenix is “A City on the Rise”.
Mayor Gordon doesn’t hesitate to admit he’s a workaholic. He gets up at 3:30 every morning, and still believes there aren’t enough hours in the day. When asked what he does in his limited free time, the mayor admits he often goes back to the office.

Yikes, there's a lot of work to do on this...bah humbug, it's late! Panchitavilletalk 05:57, 26 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

12-4-07 If anyone believes Mayor Gordon's complete 180 degree turn on illegal alien amnesty and enforcement, then I have a bridge in Lake Havasu to sell you. Call me. "Special deal today for you, my friend."

This guy is so full of it, he squeaks... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.2.95.139 (talk) 01:52, 5 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Recall movement[edit]

Someone should write a lengthy article about the movement to have him recalled from office. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.190.32.185 (talk) 01:23, 19 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

seconded. I would do it but i am unaware of the current status (ie how many signatures the petition has) and it's difficult to find such information. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 12.24.60.12 (talk) 18:33, 23 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Since the recall movement seems to have never materialized, only a brief mention in this article is warranted. Wasted Time R (talk) 18:16, 6 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Resume material removed[edit]

This article had been tagged for "reads like a resume", and they were right. Most of the sections in this version of the article were uncited and looked like they were written by the Phoenix Chamber of Commerce. And they had very little to do with Gordon directly. I've removed them. Wasted Time R (talk) 18:16, 6 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

58th Mayor[edit]

He is the 58th person on the list of mayors, so why did someone change him to be the 51st mayor? 134.173.63.41 (talk) 05:19, 9 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
