Notes[edit]

The Notes provide information that would "unwield" the article now but should eventually be included in a longer one or in articles on the NA, NL, other league clubs, and particular league seasons. (Indeed, the article includes some material that may belong in other league/club/season articles that would be referenced here.) --P64 16:54, 30 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Merge and indented leftovers[edit]

The indented paragraphs consist of that material from two former stubs that has not been integrated with the main text. (Former stubs Philadelphia Athletics (NA) and Philadelphia Athletics (NL) now redirect here. They were rote transcriptions of some data from the "Team Index" pages at Baseball-Reference with almost no inward links, now revised to link here.) --P64 18:52, 10 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Philadelphia Athletics after 1876[edit]

There was a Philadelphia team playing in the American Association in 1888 - before the later Philadelphia Athletics of Connie Mack, and after the 1876 year that this article stops at. Am I missing something - or should this article be expanded beyond 1876 - or a new article for a later Athletics that was still unrelated to the later Athletics? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Svaihingen (talkcontribs) 01:02, 19 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

You're looking for Philadelphia Athletics (American Association). I added a hatnote at the top of this article referencing the other Phila. A's teams. Rgrds. --64.85.215.205 (talk) 21:09, 22 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
