Commercial vanity insertion, skirting perilously close to an ad. --Wetman 09:26, 27 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

uh... what? I wrote this a few hours ago, after seeing it referenced at [1]; please Wikipedia:Assume_good_faith. Sdedeo 10:27, 27 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Philadelphia Wireman aka Philadelphia Wire Man is a known Outsider artist whose work is in notable collections, including the Musgrave Kinley Outsider Art Collection. Thanks for getting this article started Sdedeo. Jscarboro (talk) 22:23, 21 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

In need of a makeover[edit]

This whole article could do with a thorough rewriting, starting with better references (several of those are broken or generic). This Brendan Greaves piece is probably taken from the 2010 exhibition catalogue cited [2], and has the most specific detail. The Greaves (2011) monograph on the Wireman would be the best source. I'm also keen to approach the gallery and see if they would consider releasing a photograph into the Commons, so we at least have an illustration of the work if not the artist. Well, I wrote to the gallery in October asking for permission to use a photo, and for any references they could share, and they didn't even reply. Giantflightlessbirds (talk) 19:20, 5 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Very resourceful, thanks Giantflightlessbirds It's hard work tracking down info about anonymous artists! Found a bit in Outsider Art: From the Margins to the Marketplace There's also a Raw Vision article: "Psychic Magnets: the Philadelphia Wireman" from 1992 Jscarboro (talk) 22:37, 21 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
