Name[edit]

Sources spell his name with one "L", that is, Philip Hoffman, of which there are already a few. How about Philip Hoffman (surfer)? At least the New York and LA Times spell it with one "L". A web page or two spells it with two, but would be less reliable. W Nowicki (talk) 22:20, 23 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Actually I would now propose moving it to Flippy Hoffman since that would solve the issue of "L" count, and seems like what he was best known as. Unless someone claims it was "Fllippy"! W Nowicki (talk) 22:20, 4 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Notability[edit]

Seems borderline, but it looks to me like there are multiple independent sources. The 2006 "walk of fame" entry came before death, and probably other mentions could be pulled out with some research. So I would oppose deletion. W Nowicki (talk) 17:06, 24 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
