Correcting the Title from "Headlines" to "Headings"[edit]

PhySH Physics Subject Headlines → PhySH - Physics Subject Headings – word “Headlines” was a typo. Correct term “Headings” can be found in Refs. 1, 3, and 5 to the article all of which are reliable sources. This change will restore connection to a number of different pages. Move to PhySH (which I just did). The former title was obviously incorrect, so I went ahead and moved it. In my opinion, the title should be either PhySH or Physics Subject Headings (whichever is the more commonly used name in reliable sources), but not both – that's redundant and contrary to typical Wikipedia article title practices. —BarrelProof (talk) 23:03, 5 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with BarrelProof that "PhySH - Physics Subject Headings" might be redundant, especially if it violates some traditions of Wikipedia. To make this clear: PhySH is the abbreviation to "Physics Subject Headings" that is currently widely used. I propose to move the page to "Physics Subject Headings (PhySH)". Such a Title closely follows the Wikipedia pages "Computing Classification System (CCS)" and "Mathematics Subject Classification (MSC)" for closely related branches of science (already existing in Wikipedia). Hence, it seems to be in compliance with the Wikipedia standards. Of course, such change in the title of the page will require corrections to the pages that have been already connected to it.Aa1Bb2Cc3 (talk) 15:08, 6 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

•But "Mathematics Subject Classification" remains not linked to PhyPH. Finally, it is up to the Administrators of Wikipedia to make the final decision. Is the decision to keep "PhySH" as a title the final one? Against the previous choice for Mathematics and Computing, that also are Classification schemes for close subjects? Are there strong reasons for such a decision? If decision is really the final one, we will need to live with it. Aa1Bb2Cc3 It's not "final" since consensus can change, but any proposal to move to PhySH - Physics Subject Headings will very likely end in the same result since that's been proposed above, and contrary to WP:TITLE. Moving to Physics Subject Headings might be an option. Really what will decide is WP:COMMONNAME. Headbomb {t · c · p · b} 16:56, 17 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to submit a new proposal, you should submit it using the WP:RM process, since the previous formal discussion has been closed. Are you proposing that the title include the "(PhySH)" part or not? I doubt that a proposal to include the abbreviation in addition to the spelled-out form would succeed, but a proposal to move it to Physics Subject Headings might succeed. —BarrelProof (talk) 02:12, 18 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

As a Title, I'm proposing "Physics Subject Headings" with (PhySH) as an abbreviation following it in the text. Exactly as in Mathematics and Computing. Choosing the abbreviation PhySH as a Title sound strange and confusing to me. It is not a new proposal, this is only clarification to my original proposal.
