Proposed Amendment Unclear[edit]

PickupPal [lobbied the provincial government] to have the definition of a carpool vehicle amended to all carpool vehicles to cross municipal boundaries and that the restriction that all travel be limited to home and work exclusively.

There are some grammar errors here. But, not being familiar with Ontario's carpool laws, I can't tell tell how to fix them. First, there appears to be either a whole word or part of a word missing here: Did PickupPal seek an amendment "to allow carpool vehicles to cross municipal boundaries" or an amendment "to include all carpool vehicles that cross municipal boundaries"?

The sentence says PickupPal also sought "that the restriction that all travel be limited to home and work exclusively." Did PickupPal seek "that a restriction be added limiting all [carpool] travel to home and work exclusively"? Or perhaps they sought "removal of the restriction limiting all travel to home and work exclusively."

The answers to these questions are unclear to one without prior knowledge of the topic. If one can't even guess what the sentence is about, it needs fixing. All I can tell is that PickupPal wanted a change of some kind in the carpool law, presumably to allow them to keep operating. fuper (talk) 16:17, 26 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
