Hi @JJ Carpio. Thanks for the OT notice. Having seen the article on the Santa Catalina de Alejandria Church (Porac) linked in this article gives me all the more reason to believe that this should be renamed to List of Roman Catholic churches in Porac. The article does say it is the largest of the three Spanish religious structures found in the municipality. It therefore should be included in the list with its own short section linking to the main article. And with the main category being Category:Roman Catholic churches in Pampanga, it couldn't be more specific that we are indeed talking about Catholic churches here and not just any religious structures. The town is small enough to have to have a separate article dedicated to its barely 2 chapels. I would have created one for the entire province to be a more useful read.--RioHondo (talk) 14:03, 18 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
An alternative would be to create separate articles for those chapels (you can just copy what you've written) and then link them to one article that lists all the churches, preferably a provincial listing, which you can sort either by church building type, by city/municipality or by diocese.--RioHondo (talk) 14:29, 18 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, RioHondo, for taking the time to suggest improvements for the articles. I agree with the provincial list and I am very much willing to make one in the near future. As of now, however, I am more focused on creating new articles for built heritage in the country (in this case, Pampanga). Again, I am working within the context of the Wikimedia PH Cultural Heritage Mapping Project. I would love to proceed with the List of Roman Catholic churches in Porac, however, that would mean covering not just the three chapels and church mentioned previously but also other churches and chapels in Porac. The reason why I chose the title "Notable" is because I want to distinguish it from other chapels in the area that are not considered as "built heritage". I can migrate the Porac chapels and Santa Catalina church to the List of Roman Catholic churches in Porac but I cannot assure you that I can complete the list since we project volunteers are pressed for time for our deliverables and I really don't want to leave any article of mine hanging (although I am praying that other Wikipedians will edit the article later). This, however, does not mean that I have no intention of harmonizing my articles with current WP conventions. I apologize if we really can't find a way to meet halfway (with your focus on consolidating the articles and my focus on highlighting the specific built heritage). I am considering making separate articles for Pio Chapel and San Jose Matulid Chapel since these chapels are the main reason why I made the "Notable chapel" articles in the first place but I am still going to find a place for the other Spanish-era chapels listed on my articles since those chapels do not have published information available and therefore, does not merit individual articles. Individual articles for these chapels are very much welcome and preferred, since we are dealing with declared cultural properties here. Try to find any source that you can. And it is always good practice to create listings for this type of collection for easier reference. Any listing is not meant to be complete anyway, landing on that list and having an article is already enough to say this church/chapel is notable. All the rest that are not there are therefore not notable and so they do not have to be there. It's like this tag:
