It looks to me like the picture shown on this page is actually a PFD, NOT a P&ID... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.208.47.100 (talk) 15:04, 4 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

List of symbol[edit]

A list of symbols is available here. Snipre —Preceding unsigned comment added by 129.132.225.8 (talk) 15:01, 20 September 2007 (UTC) alias Biglama 13:32, 21 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Those look like a cut and paste job from Visio or maybe Dia. I don't know if any professional body endorses those symbols at all. User A1 02:15, 21 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
These symbols were made in Inkscape (self-made) and their origin come from some P&ID's used in industry. Have a look at the EN ISO 10628 and ISO 14617 to check if they comply with international standards. I received the same symbols during my studies as chemical engineer. But I'm not sure about the english name. My list is in german and I try to translate to french (see fr:Schéma tuyauterie et instrumentation). Snipre —Preceding unsigned comment added by 129.132.225.8 (talk) 09:10, 21 September 2007 (UTC) alias Biglama 13:32, 21 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
That would explain where the similarities are, I'll add them in, thanks. By the way, the way to sign your posts is with four tilde symbols, not by typing your name : ~~~~ —Preceding unsigned comment added by User A1 (talkcontribs) 12:19, 21 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I also took a look at ISO 10628 and decided to render all 296 symbols in Part 2 in SVG via Inkscape and upload them to Commons (SVG 1 of 7 here,PDF here). I didn't make individual SVG files for each symbol (tedious) but instead made a set of seven SVG files on an A1 canvas with symbols organized in groups. Feel free to create/upload individual SVG files from the set if you see a need for any particular symbol.Baltakatei 14:18, 26 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Check Valves Not Shown[edit]

Not sure why this would be, but check valves (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Check_valve) aren't shown (second only to pumps and manual valves in importance). I don't know how to fix it, so I'm firing a flare. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.65.85.167 (talk) 02:56, 9 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
