Separate NRHP HD article or not[edit]

A bunch of editors have been debating when and where it is helpful to have separate articles on NRHP HDs, like about "Plantsville Historic District", vs. when it is best to include the NRHP info in an article about a village/hamlet/neighborhood like this "Plantsville, Connecticut" article.

Some of the editors (me included) agree that for Plantsville HD we currently want a merged article. But if there is someone who wants to make a decent separate article, that would be okay too. We just ask, please don't split out a separate NRHP HD article unless a) you have created or are actively developing a DYK-equivalent length starter article using substantial information, and b) you judge in good faith that it is beneficial to have the NRHP HD be a separate article.

Note, for all CT NRHPs, a good source is available, the NRHP nomination document, provided free of charge upon email request to nr_reference (at) nps.gov. And, in December 2010, the National Register has just made available online copies of almost all of the NRHP documents for CT: see search screen here.

For now, I've changed "Plantsville Historic District" to redirect to "Plantsville" and merged over its content. (Equivalent notice was placed at Talk:Plantsville Historic District.) doncram (talk) 18:39, 5 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Plan to replace image[edit]

While I appreciate WP:Bold, I'm cautious about removing images without discussion. The current picture in the article was added in 2007, by an editor who hasn't edited since 2007. The edit is ]http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Plantsville,_Connecticut&diff=next&oldid=129295628 here]. Note importantly, that the article did not mention the Historic district at the time, it was a single paragraph about the village. Because I have images which are on the NRHP listing, I'm planning to remove this images, and add several more appropriate images.

Any objections?--SPhilbrickT 14:20, 31 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
