Bringing this back[edit]

PvE ought not to redirect to an article on PvP because the latter is completely unrelated to the former. I've brought this article back and reworked a little of it for style and grammar, but I think if we are going to give an article to PvP then we ought to give this one a chance too. --RayaruB 00:36, 29 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • Some guy just changed this to a redirect without even looking at the PvP page. There is absolutely no information on PvE on that page. There is not much information here either, but at least everyone will notice instantly that this is a stub and hopefully information will be added. Please do not change this back prior to discussing it here! --84.178.78.65 16:00, 29 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Should Skyrim really be listed? The article specifies that it is about the online game term. Skyrim really isn't an online game. Definitely not an MMO, let alone a game where you can get PvP'd while you do quests, as it seems to indicate it is, by classing it with World of Warcraft. Agreed, I removed it. This article is about an online game term, so listing Skyrim is misleading. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.165.130.180 (talk) 19:41, 15 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

History[edit]

Does anyone want to add some history to PvE, e.g. which game it was first introduced, when it became popular in mainstream RPGs etc.? --Azpineapple (talk) 04:31, 9 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

PVE is becoming more popular every day.[edit]

I am astonished that this topic is as small as it is. As the owner of a PVE gamer community, there are numerous players who now only play PVE. Most people come to PVE because the PVP mode of survival games have become full of toxicity that turns them off. They find that they can enjoy the survival aspect of the game and really enjoy themselves. The first PVE server I ran was for Rust, which shouldn't be too surprising for those familiar with PVP gameplay and toxicity that exists in Rust. I now have servers for Rust, 7 Days to Die, Ark, DayZ, Empyrion, Conan Exiles & Icarus. In PVE, players work together and become partners with one another, instead of being enemies. Of course there are always exceptions, but generally speaking, PVE is a much more laid back and enjoyable way to experience many of the survival games out there. 75.16.150.25 (talk) 13:18, 31 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
