Copyright problem removed[edit]

Hi @John of Reading. What do you think of this? An anonymous user reinserted a paragraph similar to this, from an old version of the article. I reverted it ... see my rationale in the History.

Your thoughts? (IF he had at least one strong source AND if we are sure it is not copied from some article). I say no, but I am just one person. Trying to get consensus. (This article mentions the same concept but is not definitive: http://mapio.net/o/1819620/ But I cannot find any other sources. And if it were about a well-known celebrity, I might be more inclined to favour the concept.)

Canadian country/folk singer/songwriter Darrell Roberts is said to call Point Clark his home, although the exact location of his place of residence is unknown. Roberts, now out of the spotlight and often referred to as "reclusive," is rarely seen and has changed his appearance several times since his days as a recording artist. Those visiting and living in the area have claimed to have heard his voice and guitar playing near a wooded area in the southern end of the community. These claims have not been verified. Roberts' career on the country charts was cut short after a series of injuries and illnesses, including an operation on his vocal cords.

That mapio.net page seems to be copied straight from Wikipedia, so that's not an independent source. No, this text shouldn't be in the article without a much better source. -- John of Reading (talk) 07:01, 18 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I came across this article from Diannaa's user talk page. I don't think the info added about Roberts would be appropriate even if a better source had been provided. The article is about a particular community; it's not a WP:BLP article about Roberts. If he's notable enough to satisfy WP:BIO, then an stand-alone article could probably be written. If he's not, then trying to squeeze a mini-BLP into a section of this particular article seems inappropriate and WP:UNDUE. If there was a "notable residents" or similar section in the article, then it might be acceptable to mention him by name per WP:LSC in the following cases : (1) he was Wikipedia notable (in that case WP:WTAF) or (2) there is pretty strong sourcing connecting him to the community. Even in such a case , the most that would be appropriate would be a single sentence or so. -- Marchjuly (talk) 07:57, 18 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Problem solved: I advised an Admin. Result: El C has blocked the user for 3RR violations. TonyBallioni (talk) 02:46, 18 March 2017 (UTC)
