Fair use rationale for Image:Pointpleasent01.jpg[edit]

Image:Pointpleasent01.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

WP:TONE, WP:INUNIVERSE and Broadcast info[edit]

This is a relatively old Wiki article (dating to Jan. 2005), so it's not surprising that it doesn't confirm to current Wikipedia standards. But it is problematic on several fronts:

Statements like The show's executive producer was Marti Noxon, who worked closely with Joss Whedon for several seasons on Buffy the Vampire Slayer. For this reason, Point Pleasant initially drew in many of that show's fans, but Point Pleasant had a distinct "soapy" flavor, more in the vein of shows like Melrose Place or The O.C. than Buffy. The resulting drop in viewership eventually led to the show's cancellation... absolutely need to be sourced to something – failing that, it comes off as either WP:OR or WP:COMMENTARY. The following, However, advocates of the show point to its gothic tone, its tempered, surprisingly subtle use of special effects, and the potential of the overall plotline as solid reasons the show should have stayed on the air... is even worse, and reeks of outright WP:COMMENTARY, or worse as a WP:NPOV violation... It's likely I will eventually remove the latter, and will severely trim the former if there's no sourcing to back it up.

A lot of the rest of the article, esp. the 'Synopsis' section is probably an WP:INUNIVERSE violation, and should be similarly trimmed.

Finally, the broadcast info in the lede should be (mostly) transferred to a 'Broadcast [and release]' section. Preferably, it should also be sourced to something, though I suspect that will be difficult for this specific info.

Anyway, this article needs a lot of editing/improvement to get up to current Wikipedia standards. --IJBall (contribstalk) 23:57, 15 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
