How to Pronounce?[edit]

I don't speak French, but I'd like to pronounce "Poitiers" correctly. Could someone add, please?http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Talk:Poitiers&action=edit

Pwoteeay

It depends on how you would pronounce that! The letter you wrote as "o" is pronounced more like "Ah". And the "ee" does not make a syllable. There are only two syllables in Poitiers, and it rhymes with the French word "moitié". Marc van Leeuwen (talk) 15:03, 30 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No Economic Life[edit]

Doesn't Poitier produce anything? Aren't there any industries or companies? What do the people do to live? Isn't there a major university there? Does its history stop after the 1500s? Isn't one of the most important amusement parks in France--Futuroscope--located in Poitiers? Surely it must be mentioned. Vogensen There is a major university in Poitiers (the Univerity of Poitiers), which includes the Superior National School of Mechanics and Aeronautics.Sealpiano 23:06, 27 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Futuroscope[edit]

As it is said in the article about Futuroscpe, "It is located in the department of Vienne, 7 kilometres (5 miles) north of Poitiers, on the territory of the communes of Chasseneuil-du-Poitou and Jaunay-Clan". Do we have to consider it's located in Poitiers? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Lemecquisaitrien (talkcontribs) 20:49, 19 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Actually the Futuroscope is at 10 km of Poitiers. Marc van Leeuwen (talk) 15:06, 30 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The French consider Futuroscope part of Poitiers, if you get tourist brochures from there, it is half of the broshure —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.127.253.183 (talk) 01:04, 7 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

La Fanzinothèque[edit]

I am not sure that "La Fanzinothèque" is the most famous attractions of Poitiers. It just an editor with fans or artists who make comics. Why external link ?? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A01:E35:2E52:79B0:C953:6927:9C81:5250 (talk) 18:33, 19 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Category:Poitiers is itself a category within Category:Communes of Vienne. — Robert Greer (talk) 18:54, 24 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

English kings being buried here[edit]

Some one has told me that a lot of English kings were buried at Poitiers - if this is correct, this information should be in the article. ACEOREVIVED (talk) 14:23, 8 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
