It's better to add a typical police car image into the topic

Maybe the people at UKemergency.co.uk could oblige with some of their images. They have the definitive collection. And something more inspiring than a Focus! Kent6 (talk) 22:30, 17 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

There are far too many force specific comments in this article, I have edited the prisoner transportation comments to be more general, my force let prisoners be transported in any vehicle...not just prison vans. different forces have different designations of vehicle...my force never have used the term 'IRV'...will need some work doing on it, —Preceding unsigned comment added by Poornamechoice (talkcontribs) 11:13, 6 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Absolutely, we use ERV for instance. Kent6 (talk) 22:27, 17 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Aircraft[edit]

I was wondering if the information contained in the aircraft section should be moved to the Police aviation in the United Kingdom article, and have a more general overview of the topic on this page? —SmilersTalk 18:42, 6 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I agree fully with what you have suggested, but saying that I do think it would be an idea to keep a paragraph explaining briefly about police aviation in the UK. Thanks. Police,Mad,Jack (talk · contribs) 18:53, 6 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Well I've moved the sections on Surveillance, Navigation and Communication over and left a summary in place. I also left details of the crew in place and added a couple of references to the Met's ASU page. —SmilersTalk 23:19, 6 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Why no mention of motorcycles[edit]

No mention of police motorcycles. Strange, as most forces use them for a number of purposes. --Biker Biker (talk) 06:45, 21 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Seems to be a lot there now BUT anyone know about the three wheel bikes now used in London, very common now when the weather turns cold. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 195.195.81.195 (talk) 11:58, 16 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Modifications to cars?[edit]

I saw no mention of this in the article but I am told that police cars here in the UK are generally tuned to increase performance, especially persuit cars and such. Was just wondering if thats true?92.3.171.124 (talk) 19:06, 5 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This is likely to be operationally sensitive, there is no definitive answer and I doubt any Force would release such data. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Kent6 (talkcontribs) 22:26, 17 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Northern Ireland[edit]

Whenever I see police vehicles in Northern Ireland, they seem to be much sturdier than elsewhere in the UK. For example the Land Rover Tangi looks like the best known and the PSNI article has a longer list. Perhaps these should be mentioned in this article too. C.I.D.Vehicles.[edit]

Does anyone know the types of vehicle usually used non-uniformed officers? Are the vehicles owned / leased by the police force or do detectives drive their own cars and claim milage expenses? Jeffgwatts (talk) 19:59, 20 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

What about the new{?) British police vans with 'hyper-sealed off' bit for the prisoners WITH NO AIR HOLES so they can gas one unconcious?[edit]

Basically if the prisoner finds themselves in the back of said police vans but not breathing the same air as thepolice inside - then they are more then likely gonna be gassed unconscious by the British Judaeo-Police State. Especially Targeted Individuals whom find themselves often forcibly 'remote viewed'. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.5.83.71 (talk) 00:44, 11 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
