Assassination conspiracy

A man convicted of conspiring to kill Einstein was fined a mere six dollars. (source: Hawking) What was his name? From the context it seems that this happened in Germany, so why was the fine in dollars? Is this related?: Einstein also learned that his name was on a list of assassination targets, with a "$5,000 bounty on his head." [dollars again...] One German magazine included him in a list of enemies of the German regime with the phrase, "not yet hanged". (Albert Einstein#Emigration citing Isaacson) The only other clue I was able to find is Nazi crackpot/FBI informer Paul Weyland being nicknamed "the Berlin Einstein-Killer", but that was a reporter's metaphor, AFAIK Weyland didn't plan to physically kill Einstein. --88.73.24.179 (talk) 13:16, 29 April 2012 (UTC)

The visit to Büdingen is based on what is most likely a local hoax, so yes it is a fake of sorts indeed. In the German wikipedia the got corrected a while ago.--Kmhkmh (talk) 13:33, 3 March 2014 (UTC)

Stayed in Switzerland during WWI?

The following section states: "Remaining in neutral Switzerland throughout World War I, Einstein was saved from fighting in the conflict. When Kaiser Wilhelm II abdicated and Germany moved to the Weimar Republic, Einstein was offered a position at a university. Einstein accepted the position, and in a show of support to the new democracy, Einstein reacquired German citizenship. In the years after the war, Einstein was very vocal in his support for Germany."

Wasn't he in Berlin during WWI? As it states on the main Albert_Einstein#Marriages_and_children page: "In 1914, Einstein moved to Berlin, while his wife remained in Zurich with their sons. They divorced on 14 February 1919, having lived apart for five years."
