Nitpick: Shouldn't the French title of this work be spelled according French orthography, Polka italienne? IMSLP and MusicBrainz and our French colleagues do. Further, at about 2–3 minutes, it's not a major work, so it shouldn't be italicized. -- Michael Bednarek (talk) 12:53, 17 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
No objection to French spelling. About italicization: per MOS:MUSIC, Polka italienne seems to be a true title and should be italicized. intforce (talk) 13:01, 17 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I've seen quotation marks being used for songs/lieder and for literary works, but not for instrumental works that are not part of a larger work (i.e. a movement). MOS:MINORWORK seems to be a more general guideline than MOS:MUSIC and the latter should take precedence. It's hard to quantify what a "minor work" in the context of classical music is, possibly involving OR. Für Elise is also a short work (and arguably a "minor work" in the eyes of a musicologist) but one of the most well-known. intforce (talk) 13:59, 17 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Citing "Für Elise" in support of your view is disingenuous because you changed that to italics. -- Michael Bednarek (talk) 01:13, 18 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
You are right, I totally forgot. Perhaps we should discuss the issue at WP:CM to seek input from other editors. intforce (talk) 09:46, 18 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
